Honey Dates
On February 24th,1993, for the first time we imported “Honey Dates”, later known as “Kurma Madu” into Malaysia! Up until then it was not experienced by Malaysians that Dates can be indulged in it’s own natural sweet juice! For years imported dry Dates had been socked the night before in artificial syrups and sold as fresh Dates the next day. This shocking news was so humongous that made it to the front-page of major local newspaper. As a new company, we were pleased by the public response branding us as the pioneer of supplier of most delicious Dates in Malaysia. And all throughout these past 31 years we tried to keep the tradition of importing Fresh Rotab with better quality as our family business year after year. Honesty in business is the only key to longevity.
Varieties
Not long after, we complemented our imports with yet another delightful types of Dates; “Pyarum”, later known as “Maryami”! This type of semi-dry Dates were much more in line with South East Asian climate. Dryer, better resistant to humid environment, yet chewy enough to the delight of the consumer. Both our Dates were absolute Organic, a gift of Allah to our Muslim brother & sisters living far away from birth-place of Dates! Again the response by the public was so overwhelming that it attracted not only more customers for us, but also more competitions! Swarm of importers from various countries ever since has been quite intense. All rushed in to pocket quick bucks with minimum regards for quality. But “Barakat” remains with those who aim beyond quick profits at any cost.

And now the Dates market has saturated to the point of over-supply so much so that on the demand side, consumers are encouraged to become intelligently choosy! In the era of high-tech & easy accessibility to Wi-Fi in the region, public has created a self-awareness about the quality of Dates, and only about the price. Buyers now are demanding healthier, more hygienic food products. That is why we have changed our mandate, emphasizing on quality rather than the price. No more supply of yet cheaper Dates year after year. Our mission now is to provide the most nutritious dates.
